At the heart of Highland County lies a compassionate sanctuary for our four-legged friends - the Highland Humane Society. As a proud non-profit 501(c)3 animal shelter, we are committed to providing a nurturing and safe haven for dogs and cats as they embark on their journey to finding loving forever homes.
Since our inception in 1969, our shelter has stood as a testament to community-driven animal welfare. Managed by a dedicated team of full-time staff and a passionate Board of Directors, we continuously strive to make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them.
We understand the importance of responsible pet ownership, which is why we offer a range of services, including low-cost spay/neuter programs, and managed intake for pets in need in Highland County and surrounding areas, ensuring space and resources are optimally utilized.
Your support and interest mean the world to us and the pets we care for. Whether you're looking to adopt, volunteer, or simply learn more about responsible pet care, our team is here to assist you. Reach out to us at highcohumanesociety@gmail.com or call us at 937-393-2110 during business hours for any queries or assistance.
